JioFi by Reliance Digital is portable Wi-Fi 4G hotspot device. With JioFi device and a Jio SIM card, you can create a hotspot and enjoy 4G internet connection in any Smartphone, laptop or Smart TV.
For the first time JioFi users, it is recommended to change the default SSID and Password of the JioFi device. Custom SSID also help you to identify your device quickly. Here’s the step-by-step guide to:
Change the Default SSID and Password of the JioFi Device
1. Switch on the JioFi Device
First, switch on the JioFi device by pushing the power button. Push and hold for few seconds to switch on the device. [JioFi network name and password can be found inside the device. To see it, remove the battery. Network name and password also be written in JioFi packaging box.]
2. Connect a PC or Mobile to the JioFi
Turn on the WiFi in your mobile or PC and connect it to the JioFi device. Use password found in the last step to connect with the network.
3. Visit JioFi Configuration Interface from a Web Browser
Use web browsers such as Google Chrome or Firefox and visit http://jiofi.local.html or http://192.168.225.1 to access the JioFi configuration interface.
4.Login into JioFi Local Portal
After visiting the above URL, you’ll be seeing a pop-up to log in. Use “administrator” as username and also “administrator” as the password and click on Login button. You will be prompted to change the default password, by clicking to OK, you can also change the password.
5. Change the Wi-Fi Password
After login, click on Network tab then click on Wi-Fi Configuration on Left Sidebar.
Click on Password and enter your desired password and click on Save button to change the setting.
6. Change JioFi SSID (Wi-Fi Network Name)
Visit Network tab and then Wi-Fi Configuration column on the Left sidebar [same as the previous step]. Now click on Network Name (SSID) field and enter your desired name. And save it to reflect the changes.
After changing the name and password, you might have to reconnect the device using newly changed Network Name (SSID) and password.
7. Change JioFi’s login ID and Password
In the second step, I told you to log in with “administrator” as username and password. You can also change the login ID and password.
Click and navigate to User Management tab. And then click on Account Management column, enter your desired username and password, re-enter the password and hit into the Save button to make changes.
Keep remembering the login Username and Password to access the JioFi Configuration interface.
